高齡92歲的英國女王伊莉莎白二世7日不靠小編，透過王室官方Instagram帳號「theroyalfamily」親自發表人生首篇Instagram文章，分享1843年英國數學家巴貝奇（Charles Babbage）寫給自己的「曾曾祖父」、維多利亞女王的丈夫、艾伯特親王（Prince Albert）的一封信，引起粉絲騷動，22萬人點讚，高達4000多則留言。

Today, as I visit the Science Museum I was interested to discover a letter from the Royal Archives, written in 1843 to my great-great-grandfather Prince Albert.  Charles Babbage, credited as the world’s first computer pioneer, designed the “Difference Engine”, of which Prince Albert had the opportunity to see a prototype in July 1843.  In the letter, Babbage told Queen Victoria and Prince Albert about his invention the “Analytical Engine” upon which the first computer programmes were created by Ada Lovelace, a daughter of Lord Byron.  Today, I had the pleasure of learning about children’s computer coding initiatives and it seems fitting to me that I publish this Instagram post, at the Science Museum which has long championed technology, innovation and inspired the next generation of inventors. The Queen and The Royal Family have held an association with technology for hundreds of years.  From Queen Victoria trying out the new invention “the telephone” in 1878, to the first televised Christmas Broadcast in 1957 and right up to The Queen publishing her first Instagram post today @sciencemuseum The Queen has long been a supporter of digital communications tools, and Her Majesty sent her first tweet during her last visit to the Science Museum in 2014. Take a look at just some of the iconic #RoyalFamily technological moments since 1940.

伊莉莎白二世1940年首次在《英國廣播電視公司》（BBC）兒童節目廣播，1953年允許相機進入西敏寺的加冕典禮，1957年女王的聖誕廣播首次直播，1976年女王第一次發表電子郵件，2011年威廉凱特大婚首次藉由youtube播出等等。

這並非第一次伊莉莎白二世第一次親身使用社群媒體，早在2014年女王就已用推特發文。無論是2014年的推文，還是本次的Instagram文章，其地點皆在英國倫敦的科學博物館，顯現對科學的重視程度。
