中國河南省鄭州、登封地區自16日起連日降下暴雨。20日傍晚16-17點時雨量，也突破1975年以來中國官方紀錄，連三天累積雨量達600多毫米，更直逼當地一年累積雨量規模，相當於德國洪災的4倍雨量。

中國國家主席習近平已於第一時間下令積極救災。《鄭州發布》、《人民日報》、《央視》、《環球時報》官媒報導，引述河南省應急管理廳消息，22日午時統計，已有33人死於洪災、8人失蹤。

當地受災情況再加倍，全省共有103個縣（市、區）877個鄉鎮，共300.4萬人受災，緊急移出37.6萬人，安置25.6萬人。農作物受災面積達21萬5200公頃，直接經濟損失高達12.2億人民幣。

不過，官方死傷數據是否低報，依民眾自行拍攝PO網的現場畫面看來，還有待釐清。中國交通運輸部21日發文，要求營運單位汲取近期發生雨水倒灌教訓。河南省紀委發布緊急通知，嚴禁官員遲報、瞞報災情訊息。

中國工程院院士張伯禮回應《科技日報》，警告水災後衛生條件差，特別容易加速傳染病傳播，應特別注意預防，提醒民眾做好防護，尤其是災民群聚、集體飲食睡眠不足，是新冠肺炎傳染的大溫床，應該佩戴口罩、開窗通風。

Henan province is home to 94 million people. The capital Zhengzhou received 200 mm of rainfall in one hour on Tuesday.

This unconfirmed video is thought to be from inside the subway in the province.
