在美國撤軍之際，喀布爾機場26日驚傳自殺炸彈恐怖攻擊案。根據通報，有13名美軍官兵死亡，另有173名阿富人喪命，死傷數字不斷增加，自殺炸彈客是一人而非兩人。

《美國全國公共電台》（NPR）報導，26日的攻擊案，也是美軍自2011年駐軍阿富汗以來，傷亡最慘重的一天。

美國國防部表示，已發動無人機轟炸主事的恐怖組織「伊斯蘭國呼羅珊省」ISIS-K。美軍中央司令部發言人稱，目標已被成功擊斃，但沒有透露其姓名與職位，只說過程中沒有平民被波及。

美國總統拜登對恐攻案回應：「我們不會原諒、忘記這件事，會追捕你直到你付出代價。」白宮則稱，未來幾天形勢將會「最危險」，喀布爾很可能再次發生襲擊案件。

美軍正對喀布爾機場周邊採取最強力的保護措施，確保撤離人員沒有攜帶任何武器。

截至美國東部時間週五凌晨3時，單日有1.25萬人從阿富汗撤離，總撤離人數來到11.1萬人，包含5100美籍公民。持有美國公民、綠卡與特定移民簽證者，將可陸續獲得離開阿富汗的機會，「直到最終時刻」。

推特上不少人分享現場影片，從影片中可以看出現場非常悽慘。《路透》報導，目擊者稱，現場仿若「世界末日」。

「我的腳好像從地面被抽離一樣，一瞬間我以為我的耳膜被炸破了，失去聽力一會......我看到屍體與各種身體部位，像風捲起塑膠袋一樣，屍體、殘肢、老人、受傷的男男女女，兒童倒在一旁。」

「我以為這輩子不會看到末日降臨，但我今天眼見為憑，我看到了什麼叫世界末日。」

震驚的倖存者被遺體絆倒，下水溝渠一點一滴地被染紅。救援速度應接不暇，數十具死者與倖存傷者混作一塊。
