西非國家迦納（Ghana）西部省（Western Region）城鎮礦區20日一輛載有炸藥的卡車、一輛礦場卡車與一輛機車相撞，起火後引發爆炸，至少17人死亡、59人送醫，「整個社區都消失了」。
 

《法新社》報導，爆炸發生於首都阿克拉以西約300公里的城鎮阿皮亞特（Apiate），現場留下一個巨坑、冒起熊熊的大火與黑煙，數十座建築物坍塌、500棟房屋被毀，瓦礫殘骸堆遍布四處。搜救人員在現場找回倖存者與罹難者。

由於事故發生在變壓器附近，釀成更嚴重的災情。迦納國家災害管理組織副協調員阿米度努（Sedzi Sadzi Amedonu）表示：「現在就像一座鬼城。一些民房被夷為平地。」

目擊者阿貝納表示，事發時司機從駕駛座掉下來，向周遭的人大喊，警告他們遠離燃燒的車輛，「幾分鐘後，耳邊傳來一聲巨響。我馬上頭暈目眩並跌倒在灌木叢裡，等我設法爬起來時，眼前看到幾具斷肢散落在街道上」。
