白宮發聲明說，兩人討論中國近來在台海的攻擊性和不負責挑釁行為，重申維護台海和平穩定的重要。

日本共同社報導，有鑑於中國擴大軍力，岸田文雄和賀錦麗確認將強化日美同盟的威懾力。岸田指出，日美最重要的課題是印太的和平穩定，呼籲合作實現「自由開放的印度太平洋」。賀錦麗表示，日美同盟是和平穩定的基礎，有助印太繁榮。
