俄羅斯大軍24日入侵烏克蘭之後，三面往基輔進攻。在俄羅斯大軍壓境之下，烏克蘭多個城市遭到俄羅斯轟炸，但烏克蘭部隊也在多個地點抵抗。然而依舊抵擋不住數量龐大的俄羅斯軍隊進軍。

《紐時》的消息指出，俄羅斯部隊已經進入到基輔北部的奧伯隆區，很可能是武裝傘兵。烏克蘭政府要基輔市民躲在家中，並且準備燃燒彈對付入侵者。根據《路透》最新消息顯示，莫斯科稱已經奪取基輔的安諾托夫機場（Hostomel aerodrome），並且空降傘兵到該處。

儘管不確定俄羅斯有多少部隊進入基輔，基輔市內25日傳出多起爆炸，包括有城市北區發電站附近有五起爆炸。烏克蘭人還炸掉基輔北部大橋，企圖阻斷俄軍進攻。

烏克蘭軍方也加派武器與坦克進入基輔市內，準備與俄軍作戰。烏克蘭政府也傳出發放給任何願意與俄軍作戰的成年人槍枝。基輔市長Vitali Klitschko表示基輔今晚將進入防禦模式。總統澤倫斯基則表示俄羅斯軍隊將在26日全面入侵基輔。「今晚將會特別困難，但白天一定會來臨....敵人將會用所有方式破壞我們的抵抗。」

另外有報導指出，俄軍進軍基輔並沒有那麼順利。烏克蘭政府稱俄羅斯軍隊進軍至今，已經陣亡超過1000人，不過莫斯科方面沒有公布任何數字。有人分享俄軍士兵屍體倒在前往基輔的道路之上。

普京呼籲

俄羅斯總統普京在25日的演說當中，呼籲烏克蘭軍方推翻自己政府。「我再次呼籲烏克蘭軍方人員，不要讓新納粹份子利用你的妻子、小孩和老人當作人肉盾牌」。普京多次以新納粹指稱目前烏克蘭領導人。「把權力拿到你手中，這樣我們比較好談判。」克里姆林宮發言人25日稱雙方即將在白羅斯的明斯克談判。

烏克蘭總統澤倫斯基24日曾表示俄羅斯已經派遣暗殺小隊進入基輔，自己是頭號目標。25日有傳聞他已經逃離首都，而他在25日晚間特別與顧問在基輔街上自拍影片否認該傳聞。此前他表示將留在基輔抵抗俄軍。
